Curious Little Scholars specializes in the unique needs of children between the ages of 6 weeks and 5 years.
Our doors officially opened in April of 1993 as an Infant Toddler Home Day Care.
Since that time, we have expanded our services and offer a nursery/preschool curriculum in an informal non-threatening family environment.
We are an active member in local, county, state and national childcare associations and licensed by the state of Colorado.
We hold certifications in CPR, First Aid, Universal Precautions and Medication Administering and Emergency Preparedness. Our training in Early Childhood Development and Education is always an ongoing process that not only meets, but exceeds the requirements of the state licensing board, assuring that we provide your child with the best care and early education possible.
Curious Little Scholars mission is to create a nurturing environment that will instill a life long love for learning in our students. We value play and independence as purposeful and we cherish our children's innate curiosity.

Curious Little Scholars warm and nurturing environment is known for its longstanding commitment to honoring the curiosity of young children and to cultivate a lifelong standing love of learning. Our play-based program was created to allow every child a foundation of feeling safe and connected where she/he can fully grow and thrive in all aspects of their development.
Our whole child approach recognizes play, movement, project-based exploration, creative expression, and open-ended discovery as essential parts of the learning process.
Social Skills
Manners, empathy, cooperation, helping and conversation are all part of our everyday, all day, activities. We also work with the children to recognize their own emotions helping them to express themselves in a calmer state. They are also given the opportunity to learn to negotiate and solve interpersonal problems.
Cognitive Development
Children develop understanding of concepts about themselves, others and the world around them through observation, interacting with people and real objects, and seeking solutions to concrete problems. The materials developed by Maria Montessori so aptly incorporated this approach we make important use of them
These toys help to develop the pre-academic skills necessary for later acquisition of reading writing and math skills. In addition to this approach to cognitive development, children have the opportunity to select many of their own activities from a variety of learning areas we prepare, including puzzles, games, books, manipulative toys and art materials.
Preschool
The play-based curriculum allows for self-directed play and learning while also offering an opportunity for peer interaction. The day includes free play and exploration, class meting time, snack, and creative focused investigations that spark curiosity and integrate math and literacy concepts. Our preschoolers also have weekly, art and yoga classes. The outdoor play yard and indoor equipment for inclement weather allow preschoolers to develop the gross motor skills and engage in active play with their peers.
Classroom area
The sensory area includes hands-on materials that give preschoolers an opportunity to explore and discover using their senses. The dramatic play and art areas are spaces where preschoolers can creatively practice language and build confidence as they create and express ideas.
Guided Investigations
Children are teacher guided with activities that spark curiosity and discovery. Preschoolers explore with fiction and non-fiction books and they learn to recognize letters and manipulate letter sounds. Investigations also incorporate scientific inquiry and exploration of mathematical concepts such as patterning, sorting, and grouping where children use materials such as blocks, beads and magnatiles.
Enrichment Activities
Preschoolers also participate in weekly special subjects. Children sing, move, dance, and learn about different instruments in music. Preschoolers also learn children’s yoga. Our art/music enrichment program goes beyond crayons and finger paints to learn about artists and their works, famous composers and the music they have created. Preschoolers will also begin learning Spanish.
